The Mental Health Care Training Course provides learners with essential knowledge of mental health care principles, legal responsibilities, and professional practices required when supporting individuals who may lack mental capacity. The qualification focuses on safeguarding, decision-making, and practical understanding of relevant legislation to ensure individuals are supported safely, respectfully, and lawfully.
This course is ideal for healthcare and social care professionals who want to strengthen their understanding of the Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA), best-interest decision-making, and safeguarding responsibilities within mental health and care environments.
Through this course, learners will gain in-depth knowledge of the MCA, the Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards (DoLS), and developments in safeguarding practice. You will learn how legislation affects patients and care staff, how to assess mental capacity, and how to protect vulnerable individuals from neglect, abuse, or unlawful restrictions.
